Still Going for Gino

By Michela Pirruccio

We've raised enough sympathy. It's time to raise survival rates.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

I’m taking on a challenge to change the outcome of this devastating disease by pushing myself and moving with purpose to raise funds for life-saving research, critical support programs, and greater awareness.

Donate or join me today. Together, we can stop this cancer in its tracks.

My 'why'

Tuesday 5th Aug
In memory of my dad, I’ll be hiking 65 kilometers in the days leading up to what would have been his 65th birthday, November 28.

Pancreatic cancer took him from us far too soon, and heartbreakingly, his story is not unique. Thousands of Canadians are affected by pancreatic cancer every year, often diagnosed too late for effective treatment.

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. The 5-year relative survival rate is a mere 10% with 70% of patients not surviving past the first year.

This hike is more than just a tribute, it’s a promise. A promise to fight for earlier detection, better outcomes, and a future where pancreatic cancer doesn’t get the final word. I’m asking for your support, not just for me, but for every family who’s been told “there’s nothing we can do.”

It’s too late to save my dad, but it’s not too late to save someone else.

I don’t want sympathy, I want action.
