Our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, Rhonda Tannenbaum, loved life on all levels. She traveled the world, dived the oceans, brought barrels of laughter to all those that knew her and transferred her love into the lives of her family and friends.

Rhonda wore so many hats: marine biologist, scientific business executive, actress/singer, equestrian, all of which were infused with an infectious sense of humor. She was a free spirit willing to take on an adventure. She was honest and open. She didn’t take life so seriously- you could always count on Rhonda to throw in a hilarious one-liner at the most unexpected times. Never one to judge, Rhonda accepted all those around her because she believed we all brought important things to the table. She was a phenomenal mother to Maya, raising her, with her husband Ian, to be an independent, strong girl with down to earth, caring values. Rhonda loved her family from the depths of her being, making them the central focus of her life, despite a very busy and rewarding career.

When she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer she decided that she would face the challenges of this disease head-on. She poured through the research literature, determined to figure out the best way to beat this deadly disease. Sadly, the more we found out about treatment options, the more we discovered how devastating a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer really is.

And even though this cancer has robbed us of our beautiful Rhonda way too soon, we are all so fortunate to have had her in our lives for her 52 years. She will live forever in our hearts.

Pancreatic cancer has the worst survival rate of any of the major cancers, and in the past 40 years, there have been no significant improvements in treatment. Once the cancer takes hold it spreads incredibly quickly and is referred to as the silent killer of cancers. More research must be done to turn the tide of lives lost and improve the survival outcomes for those diagnosed with this devastating disease.

Please help us honor Rhonda’s memory by supporting the fight to end pancreatic cancer.

RHONDA - HOPE YOU ARE MAKING THEM LAUGH IN HEAVEN.
