I'm fundraising for...my dad John who is over a year into the fight

In July of 2025 my family had quite the shock when my seemingly very healthy father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. The disease is an incredibly aggressive and scary one, and the last year has been a rollercoaster of anxiety, gratitude, so much support from loved ones, and my incredible father putting up a good fight. With the help of a fabulous care team, clinical trials, chemotherapy, and ground breaking new drugs my dad is over a year into this fight and isn’t stopping anytime soon 💪🏼. I’m running and raising money on behalf of my family, and for all others impacted by pancreatic cancer. 

Pancreatic cancer is a fast-moving, devastating disease that takes far too many lives far too quickly. But with your support, Pancreatic Cancer North America will move faster—towards earlier detection, life-saving research breakthroughs, and critical support for patients and families when they need it most.

I am absolutely blown away by the support for this cause. From the friends lacing up to join me on the run, to every person who donated any amount, to all of the kind words received both on and off of this platform, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I created this profile with a plan to run and a goal to raise $500. Now we're at almost $6,000 from 29 donors and a team of 6 runners joining me on Sunday!

The last year has been incredibly difficult, but the silver lining has always been the support my dad and my family has received from those around us. Bad things do unfortunately happen to good people. But when they do, there's a whole crowd of friends waiting nearby to help. Every dollar donated, every meal left on the doorstep, every prayer, every positive text and check in has been so appreciated and I am inspired by the ways in which everyone around us has shown up. Thank you all for easing the load even a little bit. 

After a lifetime of charitable donations, helping in the community, and always showing up for his friends and neighbours I'm very confident that my dad has plenty of good karma on his side! We remain hopeful in the face of such a horrible cancer, thank you all for your part in that.
