I honestly don’t know how to put into words how grateful I am for the incredible support I’ve received in such a short amount of time for the Run for Survival and pancreatic cancer awareness.

This cause is deeply personal to me because of my mom and the fight she has faced with pancreatic cancer. Watching someone you love go through something so difficult changes you, and it makes raising awareness and supporting research feel incredibly important.

Sunday 20th Sep“There is currently no standard, non-invasive screening test for pancreatic cancer equivalent to a mammogram or colonoscopy. Because the pancreas is located deep in the abdomen, early-stage tumors cannot be felt during a routine physical exam. Consequently, roughly 50% to 55% of patients are diagnosed only after the cancer has spread to distant organs.”
