I'm fundraising in memory of my Mum, Jill Reeves.

Pancreatic cancer is a fast-moving, devastating disease that takes far too many lives far too quickly, including my Mum. By the time the disease was found it was too late for any proper medical support and intervention to help her. With your support, we want to change that so no other family has to experience the same devestating diagnosis and loss that we have. Pancreatic Cancer North America will move faster—towards earlier detection, life-saving research breakthroughs, and critical support for patients and families when they need it most.

For Mom & Nana

💜🐞 For our Mom. Our Nana. Our Jill. 🐞💜

If you knew our Mom, you knew how much she loved her family. She was the one who loved the sunshine, camping trips, cruises, hockey, and ringette, crafting, watching her grandkids do their thing in dance and sport, and sitting around the table with the people she loved. She had a way of making memories out of the simplest moments — and we have so many of those memories to hold onto.

Last September, we had to say goodbye to her.

We lost Mom to pancreatic cancer — a horrible, insidious disease that seemed to sneak up on her and all of us. By the time we found out what was happening, her cancer was already quite advanced. Sadly, complications from the disease meant she never had the opportunity to receive treatment that might have given her more time with us.

And that is something our family will carry forever.

So this October, my sisters and some of my brothers-in-law are walking for Mom. We’ve created our team, Jilly’s Ladybugs, because we want to turn some of our heartbreak into hope. 🐞

We’re taking part in the Run for Survival 5K Walk on Saturday, October 17, walking in Mom’s memory — and for every family who has heard the words “pancreatic cancer.”

We want to help move things forward — toward earlier detection, life-saving research breakthroughs, better treatment options, and support for patients and families when they need it most.

More laughs around the table.
More “bloody hell!” when the ref makes a terrible call. 😂
More ordinary days that we never realized would become the days we would miss the most.
