Demand Survival, Not Sympathy
On World Pancreatic Cancer Day, we will unite patients, families, donors, researchers, and advocates around one shared goal: making pancreatic cancer a survivable disease. Together, we will honour lives touched by pancreatic cancer, hear about the opportunities for breakthroughs and rally behind the movement for Survival, Not Sympathy.
Meet the Speakers:
Alex Atsaidis & Olivier Gervais, co-founders of Living SISU and the Living SISU Hockey League
Childhood friends and business partners Alex and Olivier created the Living Sisu Hockey League, a summer 3v3 training league featuring NHL, AHL, and PWHL players. To honour Alex’s mother Carole, who passed away from pancreatic cancer when Alex was just 16, the two set out to turn their love of hockey into meaningful support for Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
Jen Lovrics, Pancreatic Cancer Advocate
Jen Lovrics is an advocate and one of our most trusted partners, shaped by her family’s deeply personal experience. After a nearly three-year battle with pancreatic cancer, her husband Connor's wish to help others continues to guide the work Jen carries forward.
Dr. Eugene Koay, Scientific Director of the Ahmed Centre for Pancreatic Cancer Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center
Dr. Koay is at the forefront of innovation, leading a study funded by Pancreatic Cancer Canada that harnesses artificial intelligence to detect pancreatic cancer earlier — a vital step toward saving more lives.
